Blog # 16

June 1, 2016

Summer means barbecues, sailing, swimming, spending family time and so many things including going to the movies and Hollywood once again has planned big blockbusters, an abundance of family films, and some solid action adventures.

On the family films I cannot remember a summer when so many are ready to hit the big screen with the first one to be the biggest of the summer in the long awaited Disney/Pixar FINDING DORY which premiers on June 16th at 7PM at the Mystic Luxury Cinemas advance showing. All our advance family premier showing on Thursday Eves are at FAMILY FUN PRICING of $7.90 all seats affording those to be the first to see the film at a great savings. Please join us on these special premier evenings.

Following FINDING DORY  on July 8 (July 7 Advance Premier) will be THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS  from the creators of the Despicable Me Franchise and the wonderful Minions Movie. So did you ever wonder what your PETS do when you leave for work in the AM…Well the answer is here on July 7 in THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS.

Summertime fun in family entertainment will continue in late July with another ICE AGE MOVIE and a live action PETE”S DRAGON in August.  In addition to these four films on July 1 from Steven Spielberg and the Disney Company comes THE BFG, The Big Friendly Giant.

So yes I am excited about all these family films. They all look great.

On the SMART movie front, we are opening this week the 2015 CANNES FILM JURY PRIZE WINNER in THE LOBSTER, a dystopian society story receiving critical acclaim wherever it opens. In addition we continue with the Jane Austen story LOVE and FRIENDSHIP.

And for Mystic Luxury Cinema tidbits…We have added in two additional tap beers in TWO ROADS (local Connecticut Craft Beer from Stamford) and Narragansett’s Shandy…we are now serving Pretzels…Our on screen advertising program is up and running and receiving overwhelming reviews…the cinema is a great place to brand your product with our on screen rolling stock ads and or in our fun pre-show.
