Maggie Smith with an Academy Award Performance, Zootopia on March 4 and Michael Moore’s Where to Invade Next…See You at the Movies.
She has received world-wide acclaim for so many roles and has become a very popular star in DOWNTON ABBEY and now is poignant, charming and simply terrific in LADY IN THE VAN, often hilarious. This film tells the true story of the relationship between Alan Bennett and the singular Miss Shepherd, a woman of uncertain origins who 'temporarily' parked her van in Bennett's London driveway and proceeded to live there for 15 years.
Benedict Cumberbatch’s HAMLET from the National Theatre Live in London received critical acclaim and for one day only (on VALENTINES DAY) we shall feature an ENCORE SCREENING of the event. This is a wonderful way to spend the Valentines Day afternoon. In the future we have additional NL Live events and some from the BOLSHOI BALLET.
It is a long weekend as we celebrate President’s day and it is a perfect weekend for a family adventure to the cinema to see the best Panda movie in the three film series. The film will end its run in Mystic this coming Thursday (2/18) so join us for this wonderful family film. Coming on March 4 is ZOOTOPIA from the creators of BIG HERO 6 and FROZEN, certainly to be one of Disney’s best family films of the year.
DEADPOOL is here, and you need to see this Marvel story that is filled with tongue and cheek humor, great fights between good and evil as Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) sets out to get his girl. So join us at the movies, have a nice cold beer and enjoy the latest Marvel story. You will not be disappointed with this feature presentation.
Nest week we shall bring in two new films in Michael Moore’s WHERE TO INVADE NEXT and the Jesse Owens story RACE. WHERE TO INVADE NEXT is an expansive, rib-tickling, and subversive comedy in which Moore, playing the role of "invader," visits a host of nations to learn how the U.S. could improve its own prospects. The creator of Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine is back with this hilarious and eye-opening call to arms. Turns out the solutions to America's most entrenched problems already existed in the world - they're just waiting to be co-opted.
Race is based on the incredible true story of Jesse Owens, the legendary athletic superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler's vision of Aryan supremacy. Race is an enthralling film about courage, determination, tolerance, and friendship, and an inspiring drama about one man's fight to become an Olympic legend.
