The Mystic Luxury Cinema is the idea of local cinema owner Bill Dougherty and long time cinema entrepreneur Harold Blank of Boston. Briefly, Bill comes from a family that owned an important Connecticut movie chain during the 50’s-80’s the reason for Bill’s love of cinema. Harold has made his life in the theatre business for over 40 years having worked for small regional chains, international cinema chains and his own movie theaters. Now the two have teamed up to bring you the Mystic Luxury Cinema, a upscale 4 screen cinema with 347 seats, a beer and wine license and movies that mean something. Simply said we will feature drama’s, foreign films, great stories along with quality family films, as the family is important to us and to the community. We will be a community theatre with a commitment to excellence in film programming and presentation.
What is really important to us is that you the consumer get to see good films in a comfortable atmosphere whereby you are the feature star. Our seats, projection and sound systems are the best in the industry.
Put all of that with our location in the Olde Mistick Shopping center where entertainment is of the highest degree with the Aquarium, numerous restaurants and now the Mystic Luxury Cinemas this shall be the #1 Entertainment destination in Southeastern CT.
So we have new theatre that shall open December 17, a new web site, new seats and a newly renovated cinema, and to top it off we shall open the cinema with STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS, the 7th film in the George Lucas series. Walt Disney purchased the franchise for $4 Billion a few years back and is committed to finishing the story and THE FORCE AWAKENS is the first of the last three movies directed by JJ Abrhams.
We are excited to open the new Mystic Luxury Cinemas with such an epic motion picture one that is expected to be the all time leader in box office revenue.
We are thrilled to be able to bring to the residents of the greater Mystic area quality entertainment in a quality setting. See You at the Mystic Luxury Cinemas.
